13th July 2025 - a family of Great Crested Grebe, two adults and a chick, were spotted on GP lake recently. The youngster spent much time riding on the back of one adult, except when food was on offer, when it would immediately jump off and dash across the water to accept the small fish from the other parent, before returning the adult's back. Lovely to watch.
Riding high, safe and dry - but wait ...
... here comes lunch! ...
... time for action ! ...
... and a lovely fishy meal! ...
... before returning to safety!
