Evening trip around Granta Park

13th June 2025 - Ten NatureWatch members had a pleasant evening walk round Granta Park. Eight bird species were recorded with three Swift skimming the water on the lake and a Great Crested Grebe was seen with young. The Oxeye Daisy and Kidney Vetch were nearly over but the highlight of the walk was a large number of Bee Orchid found together with a Pyramidal Orchid.

No butterflies were recorded during the walk which was a disappointment, although perhaps not unsurprising in the evening. Bird species seen were: Great Crested Grebe, Grey Heron, Jackdaw, Mallard, Nuthatch, Rook, Song Thrush, Swift.
