Smooth Newt in the compost heap

17th May 2025 - whilst gardening, Polly M came across a small Smooth Newt sheltering under the damp cover over the compost heap - the first in the garden for some years. Under the circumstances, she considered it best to carefully relocate it to a shady corner near the pond.
