8th July 2024 - Derek's family visited recently, and his son Martin took this lovely photo of a Southern Hawker dragonfly in the garden.
A Hornet Mimic Hoverfly was also spotted on the Buddleia. This harmless hoverfly protects itself from predators by mimicking the patterning of the much-avoided Hornet.
