Hybrid Cowslip

29th March 2024 - in a field in the LSA, Emma J spotted this unusually coloured Cowslip, being red rather than yellow. The wild Cowslip is closely-related to the cultivated primula varieties often grown in gardens, and they are able to cross-pollinate, which probably resulted in this red-coloured hybrid.
