10th May 2023 - Andy M spotted a butterfly at rest today, its lower underside mottled with black, white and pale yellow. This patterning is the same for both male and female Orange Tip butterflies, but this individual obligingly opened her wings to reveal the black and white patterning of the female, more reminiscent of a Small White, and lacking the striking orange tips of the male.
