Chiffchaff singing and Blackthorn flowers - early signs of spring

3rd April 2022.  The Chiffchaff have been singing all around the village for a few days now, and Andy M finally managed to get a couple of photos of them today along the Old Railway Cutting.  

The white frothy 'foam' of Blackthorn flower was also in full flow, as well as the first Cowslip flower buds and the first appearance of Hemlock foliage.  

All signs that spring is well underway, despite the recent unseasonably cold weather.
