Flowers around the village

7th-8th July 2021.  On his circular walk around the village, a number of  wildflowers caught David F's eye.

Tall spikes of Mullein at the top of the High Street, GA, and along the Old Railway Cutting, as well as Greater Knapweed and Birds-foot Trefoil.  The Stonecrop was in flower along the now disused part of the A1307.

Many species are also in flower along the Protected Road Verge on Bourn Bridge Road - Field ScabiousLady's Bedstraw, Common Knapweed, Wild Carrot and Ragwort - to name but a few, and well worth a visit to take a look.  Many butterflies and hoverflies were also seen there, including Small Skipper, Ringlet, Meadow Brown and Small White.
