Lesser Stag Beetle

One warm evening last week, Andy M spotted this large beetle resting on the wall of his house. Whilst perhaps slightly less impressive than its better known cousin, this Lesser Stag Beetle was never-the-less quite sizable at about 3 cm, and really quite formidable close up.
