Granta Park Dawn Chorus Walk

A number of Abington NatureWatch members joined staff from Granta Park on the Dawn Chorus Walk, on 25th April.  Starting at 6am (!), and dodging a few light showers, the group walked through Lagden's Grove and Sluice Wood, hearing a good variety of lovely bird songs - led by Iain Webb from the local Wildlife Trust. 

Highlights were the 'slightly scratchy, but wonderfully liquid' song of the Blackcap, the characteristic onomatopoetic notes of the Chiffchaff, and the distant 'rich, fluty' song of the Mistle Thrush.
