Nicrophorus vespilloides Cambridge Road

Derek took a quick picture of this beetle, which they identify as Nicrophorus Vespilloides, a burying or sexton beetle.



The top of the green recycling bin gives an idea of scale...

Naturewatch outing to Fleam Dyke on Saturday 30 July 2016

Jennifer led a successful outing on Saturday morning - they were very lucky with the weather.



The highlights were the large numbers of Chalkhill blue butterflies seen close up and the large numbers of harebells.  Other good sightings of butterflies were Painted ladies and a Marbled white.
